The NDIS aims to build the capacity of participants to travel independently. If you are not able to travel independently, your transport supports may include the reasonable and necessary costs of taxis or other private transport options. Students may also receive transport to and from school.
Transport supports may only be paid for the needs of participants and do not relate to travel for families, carers or providers of supports.
Whether it’s a social event or a medical appointment that you are attending, SA Disability Care can assist you with transportation needs.
Getting to and from locations can be a bit tricky and disorienting, but our support workers can travel with you wherever you need to go and can even help you figure out how to navigate public transport independently.
Our transport services include:
Different amounts of funding are available for transport, depending on your personal situation (e.g. whether you are working or studying, and your ability to use public transport).
